Variable Retainage Amounts

  1. Currently Trimble does not have the ability to generate a G703 with the retainage amounts specified in the system. If you have a subcontractor that has 0% retainage on materials and 10% retainage for labor the amount on the G703 is pulled from the company settings (if you state 10% as a rule, and have different cases based on contract negotiations, Trimble does not compile based on the line item settings. What follows are excerpts from a helpdesk conversation where the issue was identified and a solution was proposed. Now I guess it needs the votes from users to be created. Please vote it up. Th e solution is at the bottom:

  3. Emily Gutoski: Hey Matt! How can I help you today?
(11:18:43) Matt Main: I have a contract that is set to 10% retainage, I've manually changes retaiinage in Trimble, but when it generates the G702, the totals do not match
(11:18:58) Matt Main: Project Urbano Way, Vendor 84 Lumber
    (11:19:11) Matt Main: Material Storage
(11:19:11) Emily Gutoski: Let me take a look, one moment.
(11:20:42) Emily Gutoski: What percentage do you want held of retainage for each line?
(11:22:24) Matt Main: Any material is held at zero and labor is 10%. I changed that in the system. Trimble shows th ecorrect amount and shows the correct retainage for each line item. When the G703 is generated form the submission it is incorrect, and it's also making corrections from the data we enetered to bring the project ointo Trimble
(11:23:15) Emily Gutoski: Let me run some tests, one moment.

  4. For this project, I would like to enter retainage for this contract manually so that it reflects on the form correctly. If it needs to be switched at a project level and I have to enter each line on each contract, so be it.

  5. Understood! Looks like the option of us creating a variable that you can set for that document on a project by project basis is the best choice. It would allow you to enter the percentage for the document, but you would need to manually enter it in for every project.

  6. Bottom line, the G703 generated by Trimble needs to accurately reflect the SOV.

  7. This is the solution I need to create

  8. Or we can create a variable that you can set for that document on a project by project basis, which would allow you to enter the percentage for the materials retainage, but you would need to manually enter it in for every project. With this option, you would need to go to each project, click on the billing requirements tab and put the percentage you want next to the Materials percentage in the provided text box that we can add.
