Ability to control email notifications by user or role

We have several team members that need to be part of a project, but do not need to handle the day-to-day management of the subcontracts/billings. Please add the ability to set email notifications by user (and/or by role) for more tasks. The amount of emails received is overwhelming and becomes 'noise' instead of being useful.

It would be nice to be able to customize which notices we get as individual users. I get notices for every change, big or small, every compliance document expiring, etc. and it would be nice to be able to control what notices we get and don't get ...
